Some databases are provided by Michigan eLibrary (MeL) and may be accessed from home with a Michigan driver's license number. The rest are paid for by the library, and most of these can be used at home with a Saline District Library card.

Articles from Michigan History (starting January 1998) and Michigan History for Kids (starting Spring 2001) are now available in General Reference Center Gold, a MeL database. In the library, you will be directed to Reference Center Gold. Type in a search term such as mining and in the publication title box enter Michigan History. Articles from Michigan History will appear under the Academic Journals tab on the results page, and articles from Michigan History for Kids will appear under the Magazines tab.
